Marsha Ferrell
Marsha is an accomplished instructor with an extensive background in special education, nursing and business. She’s had an interest in firearms for many years. At a young age, she was accidently shot when she and some childhood friends found a gun on their way to school, thinking it was a toy and fired it. She credits her dad for pushing her to keep working with firearms and to become more knowledgeable on proper use and safety.
Marsha has trained with Buckeye Firearms Associations “FASTER” program (Faculty/Administrator
Safety Training Safety Training and Emergency Response) Level 1 and 2. Marsha attended
her FASTER training at the Tactical Defense Institute and then went on to the Chris
Cerino Training Group to assist in training other teachers. She is a certified instructor
through the NRA for Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Chief Range Safety Officer, Personal
Protection Inside and Outside the Home and Refuse To Be A Victim®. She is also an
instructor for Mace pepper spray/personal defense. Most recently Marsha has added
to her certifications instructor and counselor for United States Concealed Carry
Association -
Marsha stays active in her community. She currently serves on the Westshore Community Emergency Response Team (CERT.) Her work with CERT also includes time on the advisory committee and with the logistics division. Marsha believes in continuing her education with courses such as Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, The Bulletproof Mind: Tactical Mindset for Armed Teachers, and FEMA’s Active Shooter course.
